The European Shallow Geothermal Days was arranged\nbetween 24 & 25 September 2019 by the European Geothermal Energy Council\n(EGEC), the Renewable Heating and Cooling Platform (RHC-ETIP) and the Interreg\nCentral Europe project GeoPLASMA-CE in association with EuroGeoSurveys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shallow geothermal energy represents\na well-developed, non-volatile and clean technology for providing efficient\nheating and cooling across Europe. It is often associated with the use of\nground source heat pumps but offers a wide range of applications such as\ngeo-cooling or seasonal heat storage. Still, it is widely\nconsidered as a niche technology only covering around\n2% of the renewable\nheating. From September 24 to 25, more than 60 experts from over 18 European\ncountries met in Brussels to join the first \u201cEuropean Shallow Geothermal Energy\nDays\u201d to discuss ways to support a better integration of this technology in the\nEuropean heating and cooling market.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The European Shallow Geothermal\nEnergy Days aimed at connecting policy makers to scientists and professionals,\nto promote and discuss opportunities for boosting this technology in the\nupcoming decade. This event represents a new format introduced by the European\nGeothermal Energy Council (EGEC), the Renewable Heating and Cooling Platform\n(RHC-ETIP) and the Interreg Central Europe project GeoPLASMA-CE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
